Position Scope

As an I&C Engineer, you are responsible to develop I&C deliverables for upgrades to Carbon Engineering’s demonstration plant and the review of deliverables from EPC firms designing commercial plants. Your focus will be supporting the operation of and upgrades to Carbon Engineering’s demonstration plant by developing the instrumentation and controls for new equipment and supporting the improvement of existing instrumentation. Additionally, you will be required to review I&C deliverables associated with commercial projects.

Responsibilities

Technical:

• Support commercial projects through review of engineering deliverables
• Support internal projects by developing I&C engineering documents
• Support the selection and deployment of industrial analyzers
• Provide progress against milestones/deadlines to management.
• Abide by the standards and policies of Carbon Engineering and the projects you are assigned.
• Foster and maintain a positive culture within the Engineering Team; a questioning mindset and recognize failure as a learning opportunity.
• Expect to be on-site in Squamish BC at least 2 days/week and more frequently during commissioning/testing periods.

• Demonstrate a positive safety culture.
• Identify, report, and resolve unsafe conditions, processes or actions within the workplace.
• Ensure that all environmental and safety related incidents, accidents, and near misses are reported in the appropriate timeframe and investigated in line with company policy.

Education and Experience

Education: 

• BSc in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent

Experience:

• P.Eng registered or able to register with EGBC and stamp engineering documents
• 10+ years of experience in projects, commissioning, start-up and operations

Key Competencies

• Experience selecting and calibrating instrumentation for slurries, solids handling, gas analyzers, solution composition analysis, pH sensors
• Familiarity with typical plant engineering deliverables (P&IDs, Cause & Effect Matrix, Instrumentation datasheets, Control Philosophies, Control Logic, Loop diagrams, Panel design)
